Default Weird noise when answering an incoming call

Hey all. On my curve when I pick up an incoming call, the party on the other line says they hear a weird noise that I don't and then I come onto the phone. what would cause this? Its hard to describe the noise, I would its like an ERNNN sound for about 1-2 seconds. thanks all

it's the vibe and ring option. It's picking up the sound of the phone vibrating when you answer it.

Try this: Switch it over to ring only, and have someone call you. See if they still hear it. I'll bet it dissapears.

Yes, that is correct. You hear the remnants of the vibration of the phone. If you shut that option off, calls should be clear.

I have noticed it happens randomly. I left the phone on vibrate and it does not always happen. Very weird.

Graymulligan nailed it. I had vibe and ring and would get this weird mooing cow sound. I turned of vibe and ring and the sound went away. Kind of a pain considering i use the separate vibe and ring application because I often don't hear my phone ring when it is in my purse. But now I don't have people saying..wow, is that a demented cow mooing when you answer the phone?

There has also been an issue arounding the speakerphone kicking on for a split second upon answering the phone, which causes a weird noice. However, the sound is audible to both parties, not just the caller.

An upgrade in the OS takes care of that problem, from what I've heard!

It helps scramble your brain a couple of seconds, it's a way to clear your mind.
