I've completely deleted everything in the "music" folder on my SD card, but when I open the media player, it still shows 2 folders (with nothing in them) in the album view (and the corresponding artists in the "artist" view).

Is there any way to remove them? Or do I have to wipe my device or something?

If its on your media card then just reformat your media card and it will erase everything on the media card.

do a battery pull, when you go back into media they should be gone. if they are still there, you haven't removed them from your card...

Don't forget that the music can be in your top-level Music folder as well as /blackberry/music (the stock default location).

Most likely though what benzworm said should do the trick. The battery pull will force the media player to re-index what's on the card and remove the entries that aren't actually there.
