i'm sending my device back to ATT because my trackball is terrible when i move right to left. i want to make sure there is no water damage on it. where is the sticker located on the device, and how do you know if it is water damaged or not?

Under the battery cover, little square dots.

Their should be two of them, and one hidden inside you can't see.
More likely is you got water damage it would hit those ones that you can see first. They turn red/pink. White is good.

Are those little white stickers also placed over a screw? I thought maybe that was what the white square peice was for. I wonder how many they placed through out the device?

Yes, but that is also a tamper sticker. There are normally 2-3 water stickers on any device.
