    I want a good voice to text program that I only have to buy once. I dont want to pay a monthly fee. does anyone have a good one they can recommend?

    Ive heard Vlingo is good.. Too bad the free version is very limited.

    This is a little further stretch, not just a program. Sign up for gmail and then sign up for google voice number (google.com/voice). All messages left on your gv number are automatically transcribed.

    I use it to make notes and chronographical entries for work.

    How much value do you want to get out of this "pay once" program? Do you seen an on-going need to save time and money by dictating ample-length emails, SMS, appointments, memos, tasks or contact notes? Do you want consistent reliability of voice-to-text conversion? "Voice to text" can mean different things to different users, so please do your research and decide.

    A day will come when 100% consistent, 100% reliable, full-featured speech-to-text for mobile apps will be built into your Mobile OS. But that day isn't here yet.
