Just read an article on-line about the Vlingo software for B-Berry. Has anyone used it yet? Any opinions good or bad?

I just downloaded it and tested it out. Works very well allows me to talk to the blackberry while driving instead of typing at lights etc. makes its a lot more hands free of a phone. Does take some getting use to however I think as a person uses it more and more they will not be able to live without it.

How long did it take to receive the download link? I asked that mine be sent via SMS and that was 10 minutes ago...

Installed it earlier today. So far, pretty cool. I had tried Yahoo Go with this enabled a while back and wasn't too impressed, but there are some new features that make this worth a second look... definitely makes me feel better about using it in the car. Much safer.

Having a problem getting past the voice part of the setup on my 8300. I also have 4.5.0.44. Could that be the problem?

    Thanks

This is kind of cool if you just want to send a quick message and you're on the go! I've played around with it a little and it works ok.

Installed it, couldn't get to work, uninstalled it, couldn't get any application to work that needed to use the browser.

    Proceeded to freak-out.

Did a reset and now I'm back to normal.

Think I'll pass on this one.

Plus it's over 1/2 mg and memory is precious on the pearl already.

I just downloaded this and it definitly works better than the voice dial option that is defalted in the phone. It is also very nice to be able to send text with voice command. Makes me much easier to keep in contact with everyone even when behind the wheel!

I'm having problems getting past the voice recognition in the set-up, getting the time-out error as well. Anyone know a solution to this?!?!?!?!

Looking at this myself. Wondering if it works with a BT earpiece or not. One of the things I like about VAD is that all I gotta do is tap my earpiece to kick it on and say my piece.

But the whole dictation aspect of Vlingo makes it worth looking at for me.

It does work with Bluetooth, but you have to hit the convenience key on the BB, not the earpiece button.

GO to link to download this....on your phone I have the new OS4.5 and the first time i installed it it wouldnt pick up my voice..so i went to options-->advanced-->advanced options-->apps and delted it from there then went back to website and downloaded it and it works like a charm now, pretty cool looking program so far very convienant for looking at calender dates and tasks also i find the louder, slower you talk the better the messages come out...I have been using this for a couple hours now and its starting to become second nature...sweat! no more aggravating typing for a quick text or email!!! very very handy for quick emails, like call me or hey hows it going? couple sentences it starts getting a little funny but if you want to avoid that say 4 or 5 words and make sure it picks them up then start talking again... very good APP!!!
