Cannot view jpg's on girlfriend's 8330 Verizon -- did battery pull, resent service books, under applications it says Blackberry Attachment Service is there -- can view camera pic's. Any ideas ???

You should be able to view a jpg on your media card. Have you tried storing the pic on the card and viewing it that way?

I tried it via the media card and it works fine, however, jpg also works when they are on the BB itself

Check the file size as well. The BB will choke trying to display images taken with a 5+ megapixel digicam. Resizing the image will make a world of difference in rendering speed on the BB.
