i had an issue with v4.7 which verison is the most stable, with or without media manager. i don't think i need that anyway

4.5 or 4.6 without media manager, your choice. I and a few that I know of are using 4.6 without any problems.

They're all stable. It's more of a device issue. 4.7 came out with the storm, 4.6 with the Bold and used with some other models. As posted, 4.6 seems to be the highest for the Curve.

Yeah, 4.6 with out media manager is so much better. 4.7 nuked my berry the day that I purchased it. Very disappointing. 4.6 Rocks!!!!

irishmac53... 4.7 was made for newer bb like storm or bold. I have the 8330 & I use 4.6 with no problems.

I have used DM 4.6 without media manager since I updated my curve and have never had any problems with it ever. In fact I've had it on two computers at one point. I did have problems with the DM with Roxio though, Roxio and I did not get along on any computer or anything LOL.

ok, i got rid of 4.7, it was a pain cause of vbscript issues. i got that solved then uninstalled 4.7. I downloaded 4.6. when i tried to back up my phone it said "error backing up databases"

what's the problem now???

You can still load media onto your device ifs recognized as a mass storage device. I just open it up in explorer and drag/drop my media into the appropriate BB folders. Pics, music etc...

The issues I have seen reported with DM 4.7 relate to upgrading the OS. Many users have posted that 4.7 tells them there's nothing to do even when following the proper upgrade procedure. I believe this has to do with 4.7 checking online for the latest "official" OS and finding nothing to do. I think it's also related to the wireless upgrade feature in the latest OS's. When people try DM 4.6, they are able to upgrade their BB's.

I can't say I've encountered this. I think the first thing to do is uninstall DM 4.6, restart your PC, reinstall it the restart again. At least that confirms a clean installation.

I have read somewhere in these threads that if you want to go to OS 4.5.0.127 or 131 that you need DM 4.7. I am still running .89 and using DM 4.6 and have not been inclined to "upgrade" since everything is running AOK. Any comments?

i did exactly that, except I downloaded 4.5 and I WAS able to back up the phone. i wonder y it was doing that.
