after succesfully configurated my curve into modem, does that mean it has a new IP address. Since its illegal to download music on campus at school, does that mean i can download music on campus with my blackberry as modem with a brand new IP address?? (since they track you down by your IP address).

well mobile IP's aren't static, so your IP address does change from time to time depending the the DHCP server. So yes, theoretically it would work, but don't think your IP address cant be tracked, dynamic or not, because server admins and it personnel can find anything they want to know....

Let me be the first to say this is a very bad idea.

#1: If you do not have the "tethering plan" this is a sure fire way to get caught using your BB as a modem. Its one thing to use it to surf the web here and there but they will definitely notice megabytes of mp3s being downloaded.

#2: Its really slow. Remember using napster on your AOL dialup? Yea its something like that.
