Default vista top, windows 7 flop

Hi,

I managed to get my blackberry working as a tethered modem with windows vista. It works quiet well. But Im somehow not able to make it run with windows 7. Doesnt matter how much I try around, it always comes back with the Error 633, which can mean quiet a lot. The setup is exactly the same as under vista.

Is there any special button I have to press to make it work with 7 or is the whole tethered thing highly unstable making it a gamble to get it work ?

Thanks,

Default Keep getting an Error 692 message

I've got an 8530i. The above instructions don't work, (for some reason). I keep getting an Error 692 message. Also, can anyone provide me the APN for Sprint?

Default Better Way to PAM with your Blackberry :)

I found the best way to make just about any Blackberry to PAM is to use the Tether for Blackberry app: just google it as Tether for BlackBerry or if you want the install instructions for both your PC (or Mac) and your Blackberry: go to the Blackberry App World and you'll find it under "Utilities". I am currently using the free trial, I have Sprint as the carrier with the Everything Data 450 Plan, and so far everything is good, no glitches of any kind whatsoever... The only thing though is that it is currently selling for $49.99, and it was just on sale a week ago for $29.99, so I just missed on that, however I emailed their customer support (help@tether.com), and requested to be informed when it is offered again on sale. In the mean time, you guys (everyone here) should check it out, get the free trial for 7 days, and see what I'm talking about.
If anyone has any dificulty finding it, send me a PM and I'll send you the site pages.

Thanks,
I am tethered under Vista and Windows7 using the BB Desktop Manager 5. It adds a new feature called IP Modem which automatically setting up you computer and setting what ever provider you enable. I found this to be the easiest way to tether my phone which is a 8900. Been using it like this since Nov. I didn't have to set anything up or know the settings. Only need to surf once enabled.

Hope this helps.

You can set it up using DM5. There are also manual methods for setting in up in the How-To forum.

Default Phone as Modem

I am trying to use my BB Curve phone as a modem. When I reach the area to type in the script, (In the Extra initialization commands field) it will not allow me to type anything in the box. Has anyone experienced this and how did you fix it?

Thanks!
