Is it worth it? I'm new to BlackBerries and heard it is hard to do, so should I upgrade to 4.5? If so, why is that better and worth the risk?

Agreed... the upgrade is really quite easy if you follow each step carefully. I was a bit worried with my first upgrade experience. But it was painless and trouble free. It's worth every minute it takes too! Awesome improvements from .52 to .81 on my Curve!

Sorry, I was referring to the OS 4.5.0.52 and the latest OS 4.5.0.81. The .81 is the official release, and you can find the link on this forum. I always thoroughly read the threads and feedback from other Crackberry upgraders before taking the big leap.

You can easily find out via searches on google or on forums to find step by step directions on how-to upgrade and downgrade your OS.

Or you can do a carrier upgrade through your carriers tech support site and download the newest OS version your carrier released.
