I have a little icon of a world with a number 1 next to it on my screen and I don't know what it refers to or what it is. Thanks for any help in advance.

Browser message. Open Messages, menu key, view folder, browswer messages, have a look in there.

Hmmm odd I swore that is what it was too. Have you checked your messages folder, voicemails, BBM etc?

Thats what a browser message usually looks like. Have you tried a battery pull while the device is on?

got it! it was in the MMS inbox! I still am unclear as to what the difference is between sms and mms. I'm a newbie bare with me.

SMS is short for Simple Messaging Service (or short), and is used for text messages.

MMS is short for multimedia messaging service and is used to send picture/video messages. (can also use it to sent looooong TEXTS)

Glad you got it. If you have your device set up to have your emails and sms seperated, then sms and mms will both show up in the same folder...if that makes sense to you.
