I just noticed that there is a padlock icon in the upper-right corner of my screen next to the "EDGE" icon and signal indicator that is unlocked. I *seem* to remember this padlock being locked before and was wondering what it means. I'm concerned it means a non-secure internet connection, like that icon means on a laptop. I did several searches of the forums for this issue, but I must be entering poor search terms. Any help would be appreciated.

For clarity, is the unlocked icon in your Browser's title bar? That is normal, it means you are browsing a typical internet site.

If you are seeing on the BB Desktop screen, it would have another meaning.

Yes, it only appears when viewing webpages and it's to the right of the title of the page or topic that I'm viewing. When I click back to my desktop, the padlock disappears. So my connection is safe when I'm entering passwords and such online?

It shouldn't be a problem. When I visit regular websites its unlocked. But when I need to put in a password or something. It shows. just shows secure connection? Maybe SSL? I don't know. It doesnt bother me much.
