I was given a BB 8320 from T Mobile as a farewell gift cause I'll be working in Australia for the next year. I was told the phone was unlocked but it appears as though it isn't because when I inset the SIM card for Telstra it says invalid SIM.
Is that the message you get when the SIM is locked to another network? If so how do I go about getting the phone unlocked. I've tried asking around here and it's like $150 for someone to do it for you and there's no way I'm paying that.
Can someone who's got insight on this matter help me out?
You can easily check by going to Options > Advanced > SIM. Now type MEPD. You won't see it being typed but it will work. It will bring up more info on the screen for you. Look at Network. If it says Active, the device is locked. If it says inactive or disabled, it is unlocked.
