Unlicensed Mobile Access requires a dedicated server to monitor cellular vs Wifi signal strength. Unless you have an account of that server, you will not be seeing uma/UMA.

Your Browser will continue to work with Wifi, but not BlackBerry data or voice.

I know there was kinda a verdict to the question, but Im wondering if anyone had done more work on this and something had changed? (just hoping? lol)

Yes indeed. I now have a Talkspot subscription and a Pearl 8120.

I had a minor problem with it and swapped the SIM card into my T-Mobile Curve 8230. UMA would not go active.

I now have the server address:

    Serving UNC Address:
    westhbsc.uma.rogers.com:14001

    Security Gateway Addresses:
    westsegw.uma.rogers.com

There are some other entries, but it is pretty clear, they came from my service books, not the WLAN support files.

Anxiously awaiting the ability to install this on my 8320...or my bold for that matter.

Rogers now supports UMA on the 8320, but I (like others) have an unlocked t-mobile branded phone. Has anybody figured out a way to change the server addresses in the phone to the ones used by Rogers? Still impossible?

I updated to the latest Rogers OS today, but the phone still shows the t-mobile servers outlined earlier in this thread.
