i followed all the steps on crackberry's 101 to upgrade your OS

I have installed OS 5.0.0.230 onto my computer. but when i open up my application loader and update software, my OS 5.0 that i have downloaded and installed is not showing up to put on my blackberry? i dont know what im doing wrong? please help... cant stand 4.5 any longer

i know i probably explained pretty crappy.. but maybe im not understanding the 101 clearly enough? aghh so frustrating!!!!

I don't know if Telus has them or not, but is your phone an 8330 or an 8330m? The m won't take the OS5.0 (yet). Check under options then about. Should say at the top

Did you delete the vendor file?

Make sure you remove any other OS software from your computer prior to installing the leaked version. Also ensure that you have deleted the vendor.xml file.

Also run loader.exe rather then DM. Some say to disconnect from the internet as well.. But I duno about that.

I've had a hybrid 5.0 on my 8330 for a few weeks now.. And love it. You may want to try loading one of those and follow the steps to remove unwanted apps.. Languages etc to free up space on your BB.

What I would suggest doing is using BBSAK. Wipe the device and load the new OS using BBSAK. It worked great for me

Forget about app loader. Don't use the desktop manager. Use BBSAK

Have you tried using .175 instead of .138? I know that .138 was buggy on the 8330, but when I changed to .175 everything was much faster and more stable.

I'd advise against going to .230 as it is a still a *BETA* OS. I tried using .230, and I got tired of the slowdown that it caused. Went back to .175 and I have never been happier.

I had that problem on my 8310 and the only thing I forgot to do was disconnecting from the internet and everything when smooth.
