Default Transferring Data

Hey everyone,

So I just got a Storm and i am giving my brother my old Curve. I have it connected to Desktop Manager but I do not know what to do after that. I want to save just his contacts on it (since he went and got them put on this morning at Circuit City). So what do I do? Do I backup the Address Book and then restore everything else? How do I just wipe the entire thing clean, other than the contacts?

Thanks!

Open DM, connect the phone, click Backup/Restore and then Advanced

In the panel on the right click Address Book. Between the 2 panels
there are 2 arrows, press the one pointing left. With Address Book
populated in the left panel click File and then Save As, give the
file a name (Address Book Backup would be good) and that's it.

To wipe the phone options > security options > general settings
press menu and select Wipe Handheld.

To restore the contacts open DM, connect the phone, click
Backup/Restore, and then Restore. Point to the file you just
made and you should be in fat city.

... and just a couple more things to keep an eye on,if he has a data plan:

1) Once the restore is done make sure the radio is on
Manage Connections and make sure there is a check in the Mobile
Network box.

2) You may need to reregister the device
options > advanced options > host routing table > press menu
and select Register Now

3) You may need to also resend his service books
BlackBerry Internet Service

Great! Thank you! I have one more question: Someone on MY BBM list just sent me a message but it went to the Curve instead of my new BB. How do I make sure I get my BBM messages?

Ok, because the Storm has a new PIN. Does that matter? Thanks, Benzworm
