I'm not sure why but my trackball has become stiff but only when moving right or down. Sometimes it loosens up again, but at other times it is completely stiff. Anyone know why and how I can fix this problem? One other thing, there is a notification of a world, like the smiley face for bbm but this is a small world. What is it and how do I get rid of it? Thanks in advance.

That's funny you should mention that it just happened to me I just took the track ball out the my nails and rolled it and put it back and now it works.

I tried taking it out and now everything is in pieces haha. gotta find someone to repair it.

I take a very small amount of alcohol gel and qtip. usually does the trick

Canned air is a miracle-worker for getting the dust out of my 8830 trackball mechanism. I use it every few days and it work's great in Nebraska's farmland this time of year.
