Is there a crack to increase screen brightness on an 8310?

Hi

Is there a crack to bypass (go above & beyond) the "100" max setting on the phone and make it brighter? I have no problem programming or taking the thing apart.

Here's why I ask: I just purchased a used ATT silver metallic 8310 for a friend. I already own an ATT red 8310. While the body isn't as nice as mine is, the screen is so much brighter! My screen has a pinkish hue to it, and the silver 8310 is bright and easy to read! Of course, I never noticed it before, but now that I do, it pisses me off!!! Had I known this was the case, I would've returned it for another one in 2008 when I originally bought it! I assume the red one is newer than the silver one because these manufacturers always come up with ways to limit you, meaning 100 on the red one is about 80 on the silver one. Sucks!
