why is that when i receive text messages on my phone after its been shut off it displays the time it was received instead of the time it was sent?

probably because it does not know when it was sent...its only forwarded to the device when it acquires a new signal..(when you turn it on...)so it thinks that was when it was sent...

Yes I don't like that either. I've just been dealing with it, I don't recall this ever happening with phones I've had in the past. I too wish it would give the time sent instead if time received.

on another phone i have each tm is time stamped within the message though... but this may be a vzw thing... i think it shows send times as well as received times... i will check...

yeah i ditched my razr for the curve 8300 and when you got a text on the razr it showed what time the text came in not when you got it im with cingular on both phones...very wierd...
