i want to use my phone for tethering to my laptop and boost doesn't offer tethering. I was wondering if anyone ever used tetherdotcom and it if worked? How was the speed? what happens if you get caught using it by service provider?

There are a few apps for tethering the 8330 on Boost, Tether works the best. Using tether looks as though you are using the phone's browser. Just don't download or stream feature length movies 24/7. If you search, there are many threads and posts reviewing Teather and the other apps.

+1 for Tether. There is also PDAnet but it's not as fast. Both offer 1week free trials. And are totally painless to setup and use. Download to pc and bb and ypur up and running before you know it. Happy hunting.

Yurp I use tether as well and its not that bad. I can even run some old games off it as well like diablo and stuff like that.
