Tether Blackberry Curve 8330 to Max OS X 10.5.7
- Hi:
I'm trying to tether an 8330 for internet access. I'm a PC expert but am trying to do this on my daughter's Mac running OS X 10.5.7.
I've scoured the web looking at the dozens of articles out there on this process, but I'm having 2 problems.
1. The articles seem to reference steps on the Mac that don't match the current GUI on the Mac, e.g. they say "Click on the Devices Tab" when there are no tabs.
2. More important, all the how-to's refer to setting up my carrier (Verizon) using the Modem setup window. After I pair the Curve to the Mac, when I get to the Modem Window, the pulldown list is not enabled (I can't change it from the default "Generic Carrier") nor can I enter anything in the phone number or user id field. I can't seem to find out how to get around this roadblock. As far as I know, I'm logged into the Mac with a user id that has "Administrator" permissions. But since I can't enter any logon/phone/password info, I'm stuck at this step.
Has anyone seen step-by-step for an 8330 on OS X 10.5.7 that references the MAC GUI in this version of the OS, or explain how to "unlock" the sceen to choose another modem type?
P.S. I have already downloaded and moved the "modem scripts" that everyone refers to into the Library\modem folder.
Thx
