Now every carrier will very, of course, and even every location. Mine is running on Sprint's ev-do broadband. On average i get 901.56 kbps. My highest speed is 4.4mbps. I use mobilespeedtest.com -- so go to ur crackberry and test away!

(btw the curve browser locked up during test, so I use BOLT)

And I get 46,667 on Bolt with the 7MB test. I think this site may have some flaws, dunno. The larger the file test, the faster the apparent speed.

Bolt uses their proxy servers so all data passes through that. You wont get an accurate reading with it.

    Thanks for the info...

Using the bb browser and 3MB I get 3791 kbps, a much more believable figure.

From my BlackBerry Curve 8310 work phone on the AT&T network, I get 200.501Kbps (latency: 2.404 seconds / transferred 100KB in 3.99 seconds).

From my HTC Droid Incredible personal phone on the Verizon network, I get 398.01Kbps (latency: 0.357 seconds / transferred 100KB in 2.01 seconds). About twice as fast as the BlackBerry Curve 8310.

I dunno about this speed test. It takes so long how do you know it's not copying your bb's entire contents? Who owns the site? Would you trust them with your personal info. Not worth it. If it could speed up your berry that might be worth the risk! but you walk out with what you walked in with. Not for me.

Best stay away from web all web sites. Some could have steganographic thoughts lurking within. And make sure to never give your credit card to the waiter.

Yeah just over reacting, no ones ever fell victim to fraud. Or had their identity stolen. And all those letters from millionaires with their money in probate are real. So just cut em a check for $20,000 and wait for your percentage to roll on in!

guys, this comes up all the time. you cannot test the accuracy of your mobile speed by using those speed test websites or 3rd party browsers on your blackberry. they are inflated speeds, and will never be accurate. you can try Xtremelabs Mobile Speedtest app which is somewhat more accurate. the only try way to be accurate is to tether to a PC and perform a speed test while using your phone as a modem.
