    Hello....

This is going to read like a real noob post.

I just ditched the POS Samsung Upstage for an 8330. I want to transfer my contacts from my ugly red Upstage to my new curve. Sprint is my carrier...I really don't want to have to go into a retail store and deal with a dull eyed part time stoned "Customer Care Specialist" or whatever the heck they call them now...

What would be the best way to transfer my contacts?

Would Bluetooth work? Thanks in advance! (see I really must mean it because I typed it out instead of just saying "TIA")

    Seriously,

You are suppose to be able to transfer using bluetooth but I can send from my curve but can not receive. May just be my issue.

    And welcome to Crackberry

I am going to have the same problem soon transferring my contacts from my Moto Q to a Curve. Since I'm pretty sure Verizon disables bluetooth data transfers, I dunno what I can do.

From the MotoQ, I would recommend using ActiveSync to sync to Outlook (hope you have Outlook, but might be able to use Outlook Express, but I'm not sure) and then use the DTM to sync Outlook to your Curve.

Thanks for the welcome and replies.

Unfortunately I have run into a snag, as it appears the people at Samsung seemed to think that the Upstage was going to be the last cell phone I ever bought....(It almost was, I was ready to go back to a hard line rotary phone after having to deal with the oh so poorly designed and executed touch pad of the Upstage) The problem seems to be that there is no way to push the address book from the Upstage to my curve...

Shhhhhuck, tiktiktiktiktik.......shhhhhhhhuck,tiktiktiktiktik tiktiktiktiktik...(I miss the sound of a rotary dial...anybody know how to make my BB sound like one?)

After fighting and cussing the touch screen and "flipping" the phone over about 12 times and accidently selecting "back" on the touch pad another 13 times I was able to enable the bluetooth and link the two phones...I was able to send my few contacts I've entered into the Curve over the the Upstage, but could not find any feature of the upstage that allowed me to push my existing addresses over to the Curve.

I have to say I've been loving the 8330! I actually enjoy using my phone again. It's controls are natural and intuitive to me. The trackball functions nicely and easily navigate what ever screen or page I may be on...Now I just need a wicked theme and to get the rest of my addresses over...

Any body have any ideas or know what I'm missing to complete the bluetooth transfer?
