When you deleted the VM did the icon go away? sometimes it gets stuck, so if it IS a VM icon, go back into VM and listen to ALL option before hanging up, or leave another M and delete the vm after all options have been heard.

The countdown has begun! Its gonna bloooooooooow!!!!

Its voicemail. Sometimes they don't go away. Access for voicemail again and make sure you listen to everything fully.

To see what the icon I'm talking about looks like type blackberry voicemail icon into google. Click on images at the top. Look at the 3rd image over from the left. Top row.

If the icon doesn't go away, try a battery pull.

I would try to leave a voicemail for yourself as rachel suggested. Then when you delete that it should go away.... Has worked before many times. Have you tried that?

Leave yourself a VM and then clear it..

If that doesnt work, call your carrier to reset the VM
