I only have my BB Curve one week now so am just getting aquainted. Any way I have a question.
Since we are using the BB to browse sites etc can we pick up spyware as sometimes is the case when we use a pc?
Is this a problem and if so how can I be protected?
Thanks :-)

Glad to hear no spyware but recently I am receiving some unwanted x-rated emails on my blackberry from sites I have never heard of and people that I don't know nor want to know. I have never had any until yesterday and today. I have no idea why all of a sudden I am getting them. I know I can just delete them but can I block them on the bb so I don't get them again?
I have never visited any of these types of sites on my desktop, laptop or bb so I don't understand how or why I am receiving them.
A guy from RIM's tech support told me that just like a computer you should not open up any emails on the blackberry that you wouldn't on a computer. Say there is an attachment from an unknown person. They are saying don't open it on the blackberry because you can get a virus that will reek havoc with the device. I don't know if this is true but this is what was told to me.
According to a RIM tech, if you open an attachment on a blackberry that has a virus, it will cause problems with the blackberry.
They advised me not to open up any emails from unknown people or vendors........to take the same precautions you would on your desktop or lap top computer.
I was kind of shocked because I was under the impression that you were protected and wouldn't have a problem opening up anything on a blackberry but apparently I was wrong.
I would really welcome anyone's input on this topic. Thanks.
