The os installed on your desktop? I think it should install under windows/program files/common files/research in motion/apploader.
If its not in that folder then DM will not see it. The OS has to install to that directory.

do a search on your computer for vendor.alx and delete all found. there is a hidden vendor file placed on your computer by DM when you install it and do your first sync.

Like Sling said, there is a slight difference in the brightness of the keyboard lighting. The dimmer the room, the more noticable it is. Curve on the left has 4.3 installed. Curve on the right has .131 installed.

Slightly dim...

Considerably dim...

Yes!!! I thought I was going crazy or that I never noticed this before. When I come out of stand by, I can see the images/text before the backlight even turns on. I don't have they keyboard lite problem.

Should I remove DM again, except this time have it remove the user files too?
i have had simular problems in the past. i think the os installs something in the directory where BDM is installed. when you uninstall BDM it removes this tie it had with the OS.

what i do to fis it is... uninstall BDM and os. reboot. install BDM, restart, install os and everthing then works.

this maybe over kill but works for me. this was happing alot when i start playing with the newer versions of BDM.

try that and report back.

ok....so it FINALLY connected. I'm thinking that the problem was solely the drivers because DM 4.7, 4.3, and 4.5 didn't work for me. I ended up sticking with DM 4.5 and then deleted my drivers and just let them re-install themselves when I plugged it back in. Thank you guys SOOOOO much for all the help, I would have been completely lost w/out you! I just wish I didn't have the problem....since it sucked up a good 2 1/2 hours of my life!

I did a backup prior to everything, then restored and didn't get everything back

Don't know if anyone else saw this warning but... do not attempt to upgrade your BB in Windows7 it messes it all up, Just passing it along.

No problems with install using DM 4.6 here. Completed in 25 minutes.

Will monitor for battery usage, I was having short battery life with .119.

Never experienced speaker blast with any of the 4.5 OS versions (.77, .89, .97, .119), but I don't receive that many calls.
