I was given a brand new BB8330 Curve from Sprint but has never been activated that I want to use with my ATT number. It is not as simply swapping SIM cards since it does not use one, can this be done and how?

That is correct. You can sell it and try to get enough to buy a GSM device. There is no way to make that CDMA device work on a GSM network. Square peg in a round hole syndrome. Can't be done.
