Just got a text from sprint saying a software update is available for my sprint 8330 curve. Called them and they said to get on blackberrys website because 4.5 was out. Can't find it. Do they know what there talking about?

trying to get something out of sprint chat is impossible!! I'm sure it's not out. Anyone else get a text saying a software update is available?

I checked out Sprint's site & all I saw was...v4.3

Called sprint; They dont have a date set for the release.

It's not available yet. I received the same email and went through the same excitement to only find out... it's not available yet. I though maybe perhaps I had registered with another device to be notified or maybe they notified me because I am on the basic BlackBerry notification mailing list that you get everytime you download anything from RIM's site...

As far as a release date... this date keeps getting pushed back... so speculating on one would only add to your frustration.

BTW, I have done the updates deleting the vendor using ALLTEL version... and it works but randomly powers down and you have to be comfortable putting the old software back on if you take to a Sprint Store or they won't help you...

I have Sprint but have had the 4.5 OS installed for a few months now. Whenever I started up my browser after the OS update it would go to the Sprint Start Page and say "Unknown Device". About 2 weeks ago it started recognizing my device as a "RIM Blackberry 8330" again.

You can get 4.5 from Sprint.com/downloads. I would recommend backing up your device before loading the operating system. My personal load went very well, took about 15 to 20 mins total.

If you go to sprint.com/downloads and click on Smartphones you can find the 4.5 update for the Curve.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and upgrade my .119 OS. I'm hoping it will fix a few very small problems I noticed with the initial upgrade I made
