So I used a timer to time how long it takes for me to connect to a webpage using the default browser and tested opera's browser too... the results: 45secs.

    What's your speed results?

How can we increase the connection speed?

(PS) My cache is empty... so thats the the issue

On an EDGE connection you are going to want to make sure that you are always browsing on mobile optimized sites!!

"Normal" webpages will drag, especially with Javascript! Use wap and mobile pages to make your browsing better

    * Normal fat web page, big photos, advertisements, slow.
    latimes.com
    bbc.co.uk

    * Mobile phone optimized pages, less graphics, no adverts, much faster.
    mobile.latimes.com
    bbc.co.uk/mobile

Most respectable websites offer both normal and mobile optimized web pages. BBC, CNN, LATimes, etc. Check them out and bookmark.

Even when using "full" webpages, my phone only takes about 30 seconds to load completly. However, I'm using Verizons network lol. Sometimes I use Opera, but I also use the Blackberry browser on occasion.
