Brand new to the Blackberry world, I have a Curve from Verizon. The question I have is there any way to receive a visual indication that I have a SMS message when the BB goes into a sleep mode?

I have a related question, though it's not the same as the op, I hope he doesn't mind, but is there anyway to receive notifications while ur on a call? I hate to be on the phone and when I take it awy from my ear I have like 5 sms messages

I don't think there's a way. The phone when you're on EDGE (non 3G) is either on EDGE or voice.

I believe on the Bold it will be able to do both at the same time.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong...

On my Sprint Curve... If you go to profiles> advanced> vibrate (or whichever profile you choose) and hit the menu key and select edit... Under SMS Text at the very bottom, there is in option that says Notify me during calls and you can choose yes or no. I am not sure if it works yet b/c I have not received any text during a call since I changed it.

Thats how it works on Verizon also. I feel bad for whoever gets stuck holding on the phone while lilivo reads 5 different emails!!

Not sure yet I just set my curve 8310 to notify me on calls and will see if it works.

Yeah, I have GSM and it worked for me!! I just wish there was something to pop up like if I am in another app that will take me directly to the new message. Is there??
