Default SMS issues with Curve 8310

Hi, I tried everything I read here on other threads- including hard reset. When my Blackberry powers on and the bar comes up saying "Verifying Security..." it goes to 100% and then I get an "uncaught exception java.lang.nullpointerexception" box that pops up.

There is a message icon at the top of the screen, indicating I have one unread message, but there are no unread messages in my inbox.

I'm receiving emails with no issue, but I am not receiving any sms/mms messages. When I hit send on an SMS, the screen turns white OR nothing happens. When the screen turns white, if I hit the power off key then it brings me back to the main screen.

HELP WHAT IS GOING ON!?

Update the device OS to 4.5

Free up a bunch of memory on the device.

8 190 980 bytes is an extremely LOW amount. Anytime you let it get below about 12 000 000 you run the risk of the device not working properly and information being processed incorrect.
