that's what i thought when i first got my bb! i had sony ericsson w580i before my bb, and they had smileys
you can only use symbols now for sms. oh well, i say its better than nothing.

smiles in texts arent a part of the true SMS standard instead its a per phone implimentaton made by the device manufacturer and/or by the carriers request
