Mine does the same thing. I have plenty of memoury, tried battery pulls, etc. However, for some reason, when I press send, it does lag for a few moments. It is only with certain recipients, so all I can guess is its a network issue of some sort.

Well, I have issues with a few people. They are on alltel and tmo. So, who knows what it is. To me, its a minor nuisance. I can deal with it, as the pros far outweigh the cons of this phone.

I would think so - I never had this issue on my pearl. Now, my MMS used to lag something awful, however I resized my default pic settings, and this fixed it. Can't figure out this sms thing, though..

i have this same problem with only the people i text REALLY often.
Even if you clean out your messages, it still saves a history of the messages to that person.
This seemed to help me.
From your message list,
1. select a message from the person your having the problem with
2. Click your menu button and select "Search Sender"
3. Delete all or most using the Delete Prior function
I had a lot of memory free (40000000+) before i tried this but this seemed to help speed up the delay when you hit send .
I was having the same problem and from my IT troubleshooting days I knew that because the slowness was isolated to the one person that I text more than anyone it was something to do with the number of messages that I sent.
Clearing the entire history of messages sent to that person fixed this. I had deleted messages from the SMS Outbox folder, but there was also a copy saved in some other folder.
