shut off/turned on all connections, now no email
- I turned off all my connections on my Curve, then later turned them on. AT&T's service came back on but I have NO email at all. I ran a diagnostic and it's telling that none could be accessed.
Any thoughts?09-02-07 11:27 AMLike 0 -

- Been there and back with techsupport with no dice.
Tried all the suggestions above and ended up having to do a master reset with the "third party apps" remaining. All is good now.
I'm at a loss how it happened. I shut off all connections before I went to bed and forgot to turn them back on. I woke up, noticed this, and turned them back on. I had a working phone and internet access, but when I checked my computer's email, I noticed I wasn't receiving email messages. This started the whole mess with tech support. In their defense, they did do their best to help me.
I was only getting lowercase EDGE. They had me do a battery pull and they reset my account and had me reinsert the battery and reboot....NOTHING!
Then, they had me go into the Options/Advanced/Host Routing Table and subscribe to any of the listed items. (Apparently, this lets the network know you are "there"). STILL NOTHING! LOL
Checked all sorts of settings, NOTHING...
So, since I had everything backed up, we opted for a master reset and that did the trick.
They mentioned that some third party apps might be causing a glitch. I don't have many. I have Opera 4 beta and the beta version of Mobipocket reader, but didn't have any issues when I installed them. I'm running the current version of the BlackBerry OS (from a reference/post on this board!).
I guess something glitched out when I shut off all connections. They didn't think that should cause the issue, but it's my working theory at the moment. All is fine now as it was before. I didn't lose anything but my contacts and calendar data, but a quick sync with Desktop Manager and all is back and well.
I still don't know what caused it, probably never will. I'm assuming if I turn off the connections again and the issue reappears, I will at least know what triggers the issue.
