I've noticed that when I receive text messages, my blackberry 8300 screen will not light up like it does when I receive a call. I only notice the vibrating and the red LED light. Is there an option I can choose so the screen lights up when I get a message or is this just the way the phone works?

Just the way the phone works....I thought my phone was defective at first but that wasn't the case..just the way it is.
