So I am trying to figure out how I can upload my text messages to my computer so that I can save messages. I have the device manager but when I do the back up it saves as a file that I can not open. Does anyone know how to save text messages to the computer without having to email the messages to myself?

Backups canot be read but they are saved. Problemis to read them you have to restore the back up which reverts your phone to prior day. Not good.

Try forwarding the SMS to an email address and see if this will help you

Get the software named ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter.

It can open the IPD backup files which will contain your data after you create a backup with the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

I think it would be 10 times easier just to forward the text message to your email.

I have about 3,500 texts I want to backup... Email is *not* easier for this.

It doesn't help for past messages but www.dexrex.com is what I have used. I don't really need to save them to my computer because they all get saved on their server.

    Check that out
