I found the answer to this earlier and now I cant locate it how do I get things to save to my chip and not to my phone?

what things are you speaking of? Applications can not be saved to mem card, but ringtones and pics can be

my songs, ringtones, themes, pics, etc.

I deleted a theme so I could download it directly to the chip and it didnt go there. what did I do wrong?

You cannot save themes to the chip (media card) only pictures, tones, music, etc etc

camera>menu button>options>store pictures on media card....

good thing to know! themes see to take up a TON of memory so I guess that one will go. when I download other music, tones, etc it goes to my phone email. how to I send it to my memory card?

Go to Media > Menu > Explore. Navigate through the folders, Home, and User. You should see folders for Ringtones, Music, etc.

Go into Music and select any files in there and press Menu, Move. Navigate back to your media card by selecting Up as many times as it takes. When you get to your media card an in your Music folder, press Menu, select Move Here.

Repeat for ringtones, they go in the Ringtone folder on your media card.
