I wanna get the Bold soon. I always back up my curve, and I wanna know if I can restore a backup file to the bold once I get it? That way I have all my contacts and stuff on the bold just like on my curve. I guess I just wanna knwo if it will be ok being that the Bold runs on a newer OS than the Curve.

You'll have no problems at all. Easier still is if you have both the
Curve and the Bold at the same time just run the Device Switch
Wizard in Desktop Manager.
