Can someone point me to a thread/ or tell me how to remove the trackball?

I would highly suggest you purchase a new assembly before you do this. I tried it on my older Pearl and the trackball assembly was very difficult to put back together.

To answer your question, check out this entry. I know he's coloring the trackball, but he show's how to remove it.

I just take it out with a knife.. Very slowly.. The first one I did this to I broke the clips.. live and learn..

operation complete, it's just a $@%!!#@ to get that trackball back again, really small stuff but if you are carefull and take your time its fine...
