Reload OS via Memory Card?

My daughter's 8310 USB port has died and I need to reload the phone. Would it be possible to do this via the memory card instead as I now have no way of physically connecting the phone to my PC

no, there is no way to do this like you can on android devices. you can try buying a replacement USB port and replacing it yourself.
