Hi

I am on 0.81 and am looking at upgrading to .124 for my 8320...

Questions

1. I have DM 4.5 is this ok or do i need to change to DM 4.6 or 4.7 ? Whats the difference between them ? A little confused here!

2. I backed up my BB but does this backup the 3rd party apps i have installed ? I would guess yes as the BB has been backed up?

DM 4.5 is fine, it's preferable to using 4.7 which can cause problems, especially on upgrades.

There is a thread on How-To forum on backing up third party apps.

You can use 4.5 or 4.6.. 4.7 was designed for the storm.

And sometimes it will back up third party apps and sometimes it won't. Look in the stickys for the newest OS for 8320 and there is a link to back up third party apps

1. 4.5 is okay. 4.6 and 4.7 came out with the Bold and Storm respectively. 4.6 works okay, but some have had upgrade issues using 4.7.

2. The upgrade procedure will backup 3rd party apps, but it is good practice to do the 3rd party app backup before upgrading.
