Well kind of a long story but my buddy wanted to switch over to the bb world and i had a old curve 8830 for att lying around...so naturally i have been trying to sell him on the phone.-though one problem exists. He is a very avid texter and i am trying to configure the phone for him. I am downloading the newest firmware first but to get to the question is there any way to make texting really quick on the device to certain contacts? I know my bold has the ability to map the convience keys to texting...or is there any other tricks to make texting quick in only a few clicks?

well im not sure....i looked at att's website and the color of the model i have is red...if that helps at all. I was under the impression that it was a 8330 but they only have the 8310 and 8320 listed on the website...?

The full keyboard is convenient enough for an avid texter? It's definitely not an 8330 if it's on AT&T.

ok well is there any way to map texting to a key or make it quicker then clicking in contacts and so forth. I just wanted him to keep the phone hehe. Well he likes the full keyboard but on his samsung access it takes two clicks to get to send a text to the contact. Any help?

You could install QSMS which assigns the "Q" key to text, then you just pick the contact, or QuickLaunch which can do multiple things. I use both and they work great.

I second the QSMS idea. I love that app. Makes smsing way easier and I'm pretty sure it runs on a 8310. Plus, its free.

QSMS is what I'm using now and its good. I tried the trial version of Quicktext and think its better but its not free, I think its $6.95 or so. I say let him try them both and decide.
