question about new sw and vzw
Since the new 4.5 sw is available thru bell south, is it ok to use on my vzw 8330? Won't it possibly create errors?

Welcome to CrackBerry.
BlackBerry software is packaged for use with multiple carriers, the software is identical, the internal branding determines what is actually loaded on your BlackBerry.
The only thing you have to do is delete the file that ties it to a specific carrier. That is the Vendor.xml file. - 10-02-2008, 03:22 PMThread Author #3

Just make sure the file is for a 8330 and you are good. I am enjoying html e-mail, youtube natively, the new browser, docs on the go and a general faster BB. Only down side has been the speaker issue. I did not notice until my boss answered in a plant and it was noisy as ****. No known fix yet but, worth it!!
Running Curve 8330 on VZW and only have the one issue. I did a full wipe as well and I had issues on my first try but I eventually got it to work after a computer reboot. Also, did all of the other BB's in the office with no issue (all 8830s on VZW).Last edited by atkruz789; 10-02-2008 at 03:27 PM.
