I have seen numerous posts about various charging problems. Mine is concerning I am having with my latest Blackberry, the Curve, but I also had the same problem with my World Edition. Over time the pins in the USB connector port on the phone become bent. This causes one to wiggle the connector, causing more harm than good. I eventually ruined my World Edition by doing this, trying to get a charge. Now, I am seeing the same thing with my Curve. The tech shop said the WEdition was damaged beyond repair and I had to pay full price for another. Any one have any luck with this?

you using a car charger? I stay away from those. The cable pulls on the mini-usb port. I'd sell the 8830 on ebay for parts. Quick secret with verizon . . . they allow you to purchase a "replacement" for $50 once a year. It will be a refurb that might not look brand new, but better than the other option - paper weight. You will have to send the old one back though.
