Im going to china in a few days and roaming charges are extremly steep! I will be taking my phone but im only intereted to use it as phonebook, calendar, to dos, memos, etc... I want to make sure no apps try to send or receive any data since the cost is so high. Is it possible to disable all "signals"?

Yes, go to Manage Connections and turn off all.

    AKA airplane mode.

It's not in Options. Look for your Manage Connections icon, it looks lke a radio tower with radio waves coming off the top.

Yes, as Lastraid said, you can just turn off the network connection and use Bluetooth.

No problem.. i love this feature... When you add slacker and cached stations to it, the curve is a life saver... 3 and a half hour flight yesterday... and even with skipping i had enough comedy in caches to make it the whole trip
