OK, I would like to see if anyone has experienced this.
My girlfriend has the same phone as me. When she is talking to someone, suddenly they can't hear her anymore. They just get a faint static and occasional click. (think Alien chatter from the movie Signs). It's very faint, almost just line noise. She can still hear her caller.
She has called T-Mobile several times and been through all of their troubleshooting steps. They finally authorized a replacement and then we found out that they were going to charge shipping to send a refurb phone to replace a device that is still in warranty.
Anyway, in frustration she pulled her SIM and slapped it in her old RAZR. I was talking to her later that day while she was using the RAZR and the issue happened again. Makes me doubt it is an issue specific to the Curve. That leaves SIM and Environmental issues. My phone doesn't seem to have the problem in the same areas... which seems to leave SIM.
