Not sure if this is the right forum to ask about the BB media player but here goes:

I have a single MP3 of a seven hour audio book loaded onto my device that I listen to in the BB media player. When I want to rewind a part I click on the progress bar to try to move it back a few minutes but it won't let me. It will only move backwards (or forwards) about 30 minutes. I know that it's because the large size of the file, because when I want to rewind a song mp3 a few seconds it works fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this? Should I just give up or try a third party media player?

might be the file properties, you could try the xPlayer, it plays more than the standard files also like AVI's etc...
