    i am upgrading from the 8300 to the 8310 and if i restore the 8310 with the 8300 back up will it take my pin contacts as well? or do I have to add everyone again?

    Do a backup with Desktop Manager, get the new device, and restore said backup to it, and you're done...

    Or, use the 'switch device wizard'.
