Is there anything that can be done (besides the settings on the camera) to improve the picture quality? I just got an 8310, and compared to my Pearl, the picture quality sucks. I am desperate to find a solution or this thing is going back.

The 8310 has a 2 megapixel camera, versus a 1.3 megapixel camera on the 8100. That in itself is enough to make the 8310 have better quality. Make sure you camera is set to take "Superfine" resolution pictures.

One would think that a 2.0 MP would be better than a 1.3, however that is not the case. I have the superfine mode selected...still doesn't help. Is anyone else having this problem? I may take the same picture with both phones and post them so you can see the difference.

I also see the difference betwen the two phones, surprisingly... like yourself I am disappointed but not enough to switch back to the pearl. I am hoping that OS 4.3 if and when it comes out will improve the quality some. Please let me know if you discover another fix. Thanx

I just got an 8320 last week, and am generally very happy, but the pic quality is not great (I have it set on superfine and 1200*1600).

In particular it is bad with the "flash"?

I've never had a camera phone before, so I'm assuming it's not going to be as good as my old 2MP camera, but it's not even close.

Is there a chance something is wrong, or do I just need to lower my expectations?
