Default Phone rings but when you answer...you can't hear the caller?!

Has anyone else been experiencing this?? My boyfriend and I have had our 8330s for about a month now. We are with Verizon. Several times lately we've had someone call us & we can't hear them but they hear us. Also, we've gone to make a call...the screen says connected but we hear nothing. It takes a battery pull to fix the problem. Any ideas what's wrong or going on guys?

It happened to me last weekend. Was real frustrated until I noticed my blue light flashing. I then went to find my bluetooth ear bud only ti find it wasn't where I normally put it. Turned off the bluetooth feature and all was well. Searched and found my ear bud upstairs- my teenager had lifted it to use with the PS3 and didn't turn it off. I was amazed with the range.

This hasnt happened to me before. I remember reading about this a bunch and that it was an issue with some VZW curves. Maybe try a FRU and see if you have better luck.

This has happened to me on several occasions. It appears to be a VZW issue with MMS. A battery yank fixes the problem but is irritating. The last time it happened to me I did a batt pull then when the phone booted back up I hit *228 and did an update. It hasn't happened since and that was over a month ago.

The problem I have is that the Blackberry is always so damn involved in pulling data that it takes time to switch to the phone and prioritize it. I'm going "hello! HELLO!" while watching those double arrows showing data still flowing in both directions...

That is a known issue with certain sound files if they are interrupted. Ringtones or voicenotes from non BlackBerry devices are often the culprit.

The quick fix, activate VAD. That will free up the speaker.

Wow...I am also with verizon and have a curve 8330 and have gone through the same thing. I am actually on my SECOND phone because the first one did it so much that I couldn't take it anymore. I have had it for about a month also and the problem is well documented with verizon.

This isn't just a Verizon problem. I have a Sprint Curve and have had it happen until I deleted some of my custom ringtones. Not sure if it was the problem but it hasn't happened in a month of so.
